Father Mark O’Keefe has been the president-rector of Saint Meinrad School of Theology since 1996. An educator and moral theologian, he has a doctorate in sacred theology from The Catholic University of America. This book is Father Mark’s fifth in his series on the priesthood. The others are: Priestly Prayer: Reflections on Prayer in the Life of the Priest, Priestly Virtues: Reflections on the Moral Virtues in the Life of the Priest, The Ordination of a Priest: Reflections on the Priesthood in the Rite of Ordination, and In Persona Christi: Reflections on Priestly Identity and Holiness.
His other writings include two books, Becoming Good, Becoming Holy: On the Relationship of Christian Ethics and Spirituality and What Are They Saying About Social Sin?, as well as articles in academic and popular journals. He is also a frequent speaker at gatherings of bishops, priests, seminarians and parish groups.
